Undertake missions that will earn you allies and enemies, or remain a free agent and choose your own objectives. Buy ships, goods, and townhouses, join a temple, risk desperate adventures in the wilderness, or embroil yourself in court intrigues and the sudden violence of city backstreets. Be anyone you want: explorer, merchant, priest, scholar, thief, wizard, or soldier of fortune. I like it, but its snickering spirits will only haunt the tortured recesses of my mind for a few short days.The original Fabled Lands gamebooks, written by Dave Morris and Jamie Thomson, and beloved by many, have been transformed into an epic, digital adventure of interactive fiction with a massive game world. Its ideas would have been better served if diverted into a broader range of activities rather than heaping so many poorly-explained stats and meters onto the tiny handful of mechanics here. Lobotomy Corporation is its own paradoxical anomaly: unnecessarily complicated and too small and repetitive, all at the same time.
